Capital Market securities are held in electronic form as account entries. These accounts are managed by licensed firms that trade on them such as Stockbrokers and Investment banks.
Besides the trading parties, the regulator has licensed some banks which deal with holding of shares on behalf of their clients, as depositories. These depositories however do not trade directly in the market and as such they liaise with brokers/investment banks to trade for them.
The list of authorised depositories included the following 15 banks as at June 2018.
